Re: [foxboro] ICC compound summary access error

We have version 6.3 running on unix solaris 2.5. I've checked with our
service engineers to find out if this could be the origin of the problem
and if the qf is available for 6.3. I also checked in the installed Qf's
and it hasn't been installed on our system.

Thanks for the advise

Rgds,

Dirk

Dirk,

What is your I/A version and platform eg. Unix/NT/XP/Venix.

On versions 6.4/V7.0 and previous a QC for several OS was issued:

  QC2000811-819

  1) CSA fails after 32367 (0x7FFF) calls of the CSblkdef function (part
of the csaretrv.dll/libcsaretrv.so=3D20
library) from a CSA Client application without terminating. Reaching
this number of calls plus 1, causes=3D20
CSA to be no longer available for any CSA client ( ICC (!), foxapi-
Server, AIM*API server (apimgr)).
'libcsaretrv' has the correction for 50 series AP, AW and WP.
'csaretrv.dll' addresses the issue for 70 Series.

2) Since 6.3 CSA Server will attempt to retry a failed transaction 59
times 7 at a 1.5 sec interval, resulting=3D20
in possible 660 sec max lockup of CSA services for all CSA clients.
'CSA_SERVER' has a corrected retry mechanism and is only needed fo 50
Series Hosting stations (AP AW).

Thanks for the tips guys,=3D3D20
We don't know why the CSA died, strange thing is we could start the CSA
server again from the script, but the ICC still didn't work. After a
station reboot everything was OK again. Probably some other service died
also?
Any way, everything back up & running now.

Thanks & Rgds

Dirk

On the machine that hosts the CSA server try to run ps -ef|grep csa.
That should return a process like "/usr/fox/csa/CSA_SERVER". It that
does not=3D3D3D20
there:

Before Option 1 or 2: investigate why CSA died!

Option 1 In the directory /usr/fox/bin run the script "go_ACSA"

Or=3D3D3D20

Option 2 Reboot the box which should bring CSA Server=3D3D3D20

Good luck

Subject: [foxboro] ICC compound summary access error

Has someone experienced following problem on 6.3:
=3D3D3D20
Trying to access the ICC: following error: Compound summary access
error, error nr -30.
=3D3D3D20
We can't access the ICC anymore. I experienced this before, but can't
remember what I did then to solve it....No ICC or ciocfg jobs seem to
exist in the ps -ef
=3D3D3D20
Any suggestions?
