Daniel,
In general, look for the following common Profibus problems:
1. incorrect slave address set at slave (surprisingly common)
2. incorrect module configuration sent from master to slave
3. Profibus connector between master and unresponsive slave has termination
switched on
4. configuration based on outdated .GSD file information
How are you coming up with the MDAT0x values in your ECB103? Are you using the
AutoConfig Pro tool (Foxboro p/n K0173VW) or coming up with the hex values by
hand? I've done it both ways and the AutoConfig software is a convenient way to
check your work.
Do you have a Profibus monitor capability? Using a laptop PC and a PCMCIA card
from Softing or Siemens plus the right software will allow you to look at the
actual Profibus telegrams and pretty easily see what the problem is.
