Re: [foxboro] How to

I would go for WinXP in combination with tweakUI

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

create the account you want to use for the standard use, give this user =
admin rights. Configure it with tweakUI. After configuring with tweakUI =
take away the admin right for this user again.

With tweakUI you can block drive numbers (usefull for blocking USB =
memorystick), set an automatic logon user (after reboot the machine will =
logon to this user) etc.

Hello list,

This is not directly an I/A question but some of you would have similar =
=3D
concerns and the solution as well.
I'm setting up a PC for use as an HMI PC for a PLC-based BMS.
The PC would be running either Win2k or WinXP (I haven't decided as =3D
yet).
I am concerned about protecting the computer from unauthorised use =3D
(operators have been running software on previous computer and over time =
=3D
HMI program and database got corrupted).
My question is how to make the pc bullet-proof such that it cannot be =
=3D
tampered with, no other programs can be run etc.
I look forward to your replies.

Thanks,
NB.
