Yes, but SCSI pas through should work here. I'm betting that the vendor 
supplies software to do this.

It's runing in single drive mode. The replacement drive  Foxboro sent
looked like it had a close encounter with a tractor trailer rig, and the
box it was shiped in was not damafed.
