I list below the parameters for various hard disks - Tried & tested on 51B
@ 6.1.2. I went through a lot of pain long time back trying to install a
9gig on our AW51B to remove concatenation, but thanks to Ron Deen, i was
able to do it (Thanks once again). And now it's been working for more than
a year,
SUN18G cyl 7506 alt 2 hd 19 sec 248
SUN9.0G cyl 4924 alt 2 hd 27 sec 133
SUN4.2G cyl 3880 alt 2 hd 16 sec 135
SUN2.1G cyl 2733 alt 2 hd 19 sec 80
Rest of the parameters as Ron said can be left to their default values. The
label SUN18G is very very important.
Also i don't think it's the format.dat file, u may have to manipulate.
Instead look inside the directory /usr/local/medusa/datafiles

Hello list,
I searched the archives a little bit but could not come up with a direct
answer to my question, which is?
Can you install a Fujitsu Model MAS3184NC Hard Drive in a model 51B Box????
This is a 18.4GB.
Here is what I've sone so far....
I was able to boot up from cdrom on Ver 6.2 Day0 CDROM. Then I enetered
the
format menu and tried formatting the Drive. I was successfull in doing so
and I even let it do both verification checks. Then when I try an
ia_install script I get an error telling me about "Get_Size" error and the
script stops. In the archives I see where people have edited the format.dat
files to include their hard disk specs. I tried but was unsucessfull. If
anyone knows of a easy way out there to accomplish this could you please
reply??
Thanks in advance
