I mostly program/hack in perl, also some ruby and python. For graphics, I'd
say most people using these languages for graphics are doing so with
tcl/tk, especially on *nix. Perl has perltk which is a port of tk. Python
has tkinter as it's defacto gui standard, which is an object layer on top
of tcl/tk. Ruby has extensions for tcl/tk. There are many other gui you can
use with these languages (see
http://phaseit.net/claird/comp.lang.python/python_GUI.html for a summary of
some choices for python), but tcl/tk is mature, stable and portable.

OMG !!!! Just when I thought I was beginning to understand what people
were saying around here, they switch into something other than English.
(And my French, Gaelic & Klingon don't help either.) This looks like
someone wrote a random-letter generator script ... perl, tk, tcl, gui,
ruby, python, elephant, kumquat ...
