Re: [foxboro] Ghost

You probably already know this, but the main issue with ghosting =
dissimilar machines is the extreme likelihood that the two dissimilar =
machines have different device drivers. The operating system itself =
shouldn't be a problem, assuming both machines are capable of running it =
(and both hard drives are big enough to hold it). The big problem is =
that you may not be able to get the video card to work when you attempt =
to boot up on the second machine so that you won't even be able to see =
what else you have to fix. You could take the video card out of the =
machine that is already working and place it in the other machine =
(assuming there are no compatibility issues). That way you'll at least =
be able to boot up into a position where you can see all the other =
device driver problems and try to fix them.

I wouldn't recommend ghosting two dissimilar machines, but hey, if you =
have 3 days until Thanksgiving and nothing better to do, go for it!

Has anyone had experience with using Ghost on dissimilar computers?
I have a server I want to duplicate onto a dissimilar machine and have =
never
used Ghost.
