Re: [foxboro] Get information's from System Monitor

Thank you Russ, I believe you may have found the proverbial needle in
the haystack with the possibility that FoxMass leaves REMV/REMD running
after collecting data for their Quarterly FoxWatch Reports; no one here
on-site even knows what REMV/REMD are so I doubt it is us. However ...
once I can understand, but this happens often; very possibly once a
Quarter. Hmmmmmmmm... Can it be possible they always or often leave it
running? I offered this as a suggestion to FoxMass and am waiting to
hear their response to this mystery.

My thanks also to Terry Doucet's suggestions...

As usual, the help received from this list has been educational and
invaluable...

If SMDH will not open because of "SMDH Currently Active on this screen"
and there is no active window visible, then there is a good possibility
that REMV/REMD was left running. When REMD/REMV is started to execute
and gather counters remotely from FoxMass or on site SMDH local
capabilities are prevented on the local machine so no one will interrupt
or reset the counters while being collected. If that process is left
running...then local SMDH is prevented with the message you speak of.
ps -eaf |grep remd or remv ...kill process id if you are sure know one
is collecting counters.

Folks,

Same subject (System Monitor messages); different line of questioning
...

We have System Monitors that periodically stop running (viewed as gray
in the System Manager display), and one that periodically will not open
the Sys/Sys_Mgmt (System Manager) display (get error "cannot
open/access. Get
error - SMDH: Currently active on this Station" but it is not). Not
getting any where with Foxboro Service so... Will the System Manager
trap/report these types of messages? Hate to waste the time with log
files if this is something that will not even be reported.

Thanks.

Subject: [foxboro] Get information's from System Monitor

Hi List.

Does anybody know how to get information's from the system monitor into
a
file.
Is there a possibility to get a report-File for a Station or to get a
single
Information?

For Example:
I would like to get automatically the PERIPHERAL COUNTERs each day from
all
Modbus Stations To get an Statistic over the Error counters.

Regards
 Dirk
