Re: [foxboro] Get information's from Enterasys Switches

We purchased the Netsite Atlas software and have been using it to =
monitor the mesh for a few months now. The software has a lot of really =
good management tools such as the topography map which can be used to =
provide you with a graphical representation of your mesh. There are =
several overlays for the map that provide you link status, speed, =
spanning tree primary and backup which can be very useful to determine =
switch or fiber problems. Other features include alarming via e-mails / =
pages, port utilization in %, etc..
A lot of this information can be had without the console software by =
using the build in web interface if you turn it on.

Hi,

what are the pro and contras bying the enterasys management software for
switches?

contra:
- a price around 15000 EUR (what I've heard)

pro:
- capability to monitor the primary/secondary power supply status of the
switches

I think that it is a crazy situation that we install new hardware
without having the necessary tools to maintain that mesh network ...

What's the list thinking?

Regards,
Andreas
