Thanks for the advice.  We will check the SMDH counters for  INVAL_CMNDs. 
Wewill also check the terminating resistors, and see if we can find the
MPSTAT utility and determine what is going on.  

Shaun, we were discussing whether or not it would make sense to go to a
version 8 MB FDSI with a MB+ bridge.  You indicate that this is not a good
idea.  


**** don't think that a V8 ModbusTCP fbm could be bridged to a MB+
network because it can't (a long story) ****

Foxboro mentioned the following as possible methods to go from MB+ to a MB
FDSI.

Schneider MB85 Bridge - Serial connection to Modbus Plus
  Schneider 174CEV20040 Ethernet Bridge - EtherNet to Modbus plus.

Is this the method you tried?
