Re: [foxboro] Foxview Protection class question.

How about this...

The RAMPVALUE object is in /opt/fox/displib/Buttons
as file name 'rampvalue.m1'

Copy that file into /opt/customer/displib/Buttons.
Edit that ".m1" file to add a protection class to
it's only action. Save it (it's a custom version of
the button).

Use it in your display instead of the standard one,
linked from "User Buttons".

Prelimitary checks with AW51 FoxView 8 seem to say it works,
but,
a) If both a standard and a custom version of the
rampvalue are on the same display, they both have
this custom behaviour, (would changing the action
name help ? or the object name ?), and,

b)I can't seem to make "protect" and "unprotect"
display manager commands work, so I used the
old one, setacl, in my environment file.

Subject: [foxboro] Foxview Protection class question.

Hello all,

I hope there are a few folks out there this short
Thanksgiving week.

I have just run across some odd behavior in Foxview relating
to the
protection class.
I have a text entry box copied from the object->link from
library->Fox
Buttons->rampvalue. I would like to put a protection class
on this item,
but since it does not have an action associated with it, it
won't take a
protection class. Has anyone else run into this before and
if so, what
would be a good work around.

Thanks,
David
