Re: [foxboro] Foxboro cluster FBC21

Alex,
I have been using cluster I/O since 1996. In that time I have had 2 FBP10s =
fail but no FBC21s.
A recurring problem is the inability to handle ambient temperatures above 2=
9 deg C.

Hi Alex
We have used cluster I/O since around 1997 or so. In that time I have maybe
had problems with two FBC21's. Typically when they failed it was when we
were using the module to power the loop. For the most part I have stopped
that practice. If a tech hooks something up wrong or a field instrument has
a problem the external power supplies can handle that better than the
modules. I have had one FBP10 fail in the same time period.
I actually have replaced more Allen Bradley analog modules in an area of our
site, that has a hybrid system than the FBC21's.
My feeling is, to bad Foxboro didn't get the fact that they had a product
line that could go heads up with PLC's a long time ago and support the FBC
series more.

Hi to one and all

Is there anyone having problems with Foxboro Field Bus Cluster, especially
FBC21's.

What has been your failure rate and is it the same recurring problem?

Alex Ashley
