Re: [foxboro] FoxSelect issue on I/A v. 8.4.2 on P90 via remote desktop

We have had similar problems. I resolved our issues by changing the
remote display manager assignments such that the display managers that
would not call up Select were used by individuals who did not need
Select.

Your solution is much better and easier, thanks. It appears we need a
CAR on this as it will be a problem for all users using Remote Desktop
for Engineering. W2W (Welcome to Windoze)

Subject: [foxboro] FoxSelect issue on I/A v. 8.4.2 on P90 via remote
desktop

I am having an issue when trying to start FoxSelect on an 8.4.2 system
on a P90 via remote desktop. It never starts. Task manager also show
that the process never starts. This occurs on two different P90s. I
have tried starting FoxSelect from the display bar and also from the
File menu pull down with the same failing outcome. If I start up the
executable via a windows explorer it starts fine, but is then not
associated with my remote FoxView and is therefore useless. If I open
a command prompt and start the FoxSelect and try to associate it with
my remote FoxView with the -fsname paramter it again fails to start.

now here is the interesting part: there are several *.ini files in the
directory where the executable resides (/opt/fox/wp/FoxSelect/) that
are asociated with the remote FoxView instances. If I delete the one
for the FoxView I have open, FoxSelect starts working again.

why is this and is there anyway to keep this from occurring in the
future?
