Re: [foxboro] FoxCAE & ACM

The block types do appear in FoxCAE, and you can create new blocks of
type ECB90-95... you just can't edit them!

It might be a small matter of adding the default / dataform to the one
of the tables. Thanks for the tip on version 5.1, I'll chase that down.

We're using a complicated arrangement of MS Excel, MS Access, and shell
scripts to build and connect ECBs at the moment. It works, but it's
almost impossible to document...

I've done several of these integrations, and you are correct that they
don't support ECBs. What I did was build the other blocks in CAE and
then manually build the ECB's on the FoxGuard module. Not the best, but
it worked.

BTW, I think they let out the 5.1 version in late or mid 2005. Might
check to see if they've added the ECBs.=20

My understanding is that FoxCAE is on the way out, since IACC supposedly
does many of the same functions, such as allowing creation of loop
typicals (although by another name). I personally have had no
experience with IACC, other than seeing it in the demo trailer a time or
two. I'd be interested to know if it has the same functionality as good
ol' FoxCAE.
