Re: [foxboro] Fiber optic field bus on CP40?

We have used fibre optic fieldbus without issue.
You'll need end bus modems at each end. End Bus=20
Modem part number is P0903QF. You may need mid=20
bus modems if you have any drops in between the=20
ends. Mid Bus Modems part number is P0903QF. For=20
each modem pair you'll need a power distribution=20
unit. It's part number is P0904AU. The power=20
distribution unit will tap power of a 1x8, IE-32,
or you can wire it off a separate 24Vdc supply.

Subject: [foxboro] Fiber optic field bus on CP40?

We have a CP40 with copper filed bus that goes to 2 different remote
equipment rooms.

Over the years we have had intermittent comm problems with (fortunately
one
side at a time) this. We do have dark fiber to one of these 2 equipment
rooms.

I'm wondering what my options are for using this, in an effort to
reduce/eliminate these comm errors? I'm working on the theory that one
of
the existing copper cables has a problem of some sort (noise, grounding
etc.).
