Re: [foxboro] Failed hard drive?

Rob,

I have had a look through some of my information about this problem and it
is probably an NVRAM problem.
You may be able to fix the problem by recommitting the WP. The commit will
reprogram your NVRAM.
You may also want to check hostid and ethernet address on the WP. If the
NVRAM has been affected, they may be all f's.

Rob,

I have seen this situation before at a customer site. After a power on
cycle the system must be trying to access the hard drive before it has
initialised / 'spun up'. If you then type 'boot' at the 'ok' prompt the WP
will boot normally.
The problem went away when the customer upgraded to 6.2.1.

After a hard boot due to cursor lock up on WP51D,
I get:

Bad magic number
Can't open disk label
Evaluating: Boot
Can;t open boot device

Is this a good sign for a bad hard drive?
