I recently made the same evaluation you're going through. Several
existing Aim*OPC users in my area were not able to get the required up
time. They suggested that if I chose OPC to use the Matrikon product
(which I believe developed Aim*OPC). Due to the additional cost of
support for the Matrikon product, I decided on the FXBAIS. It has been
installed and running since late Feb. of this year without issues.=20
System is classic Nodebus, AW51F & AW51B (B box configured as backup)I/A
Ver 7.1 on the F box and 6.5 on the B box.
I highly recommend it.=20

Subject: [foxboro] FXBAIS vs PI OPC Interface
Dear list,
We are evaluating the use of FXBAIS and PI OPC Interface as a software
solution to interface our DCS System (Foxboro I/A system - MESH and
Nodebus
Networks) to OSIsoft PI (based on Real Time data).
In order to choose the right option we may go for, we would like to
understand the advantages and limitations of each of the two options and
what are the considerations to look at before deciding on the best
solution in terms of reliability, efficiency, performance and
availability.
Please do not hesitate to share your feedback and thanks in advance.
Regards,
