Hi Walter,
The following about /usr/fox/xt/lib/openwin-init:
Comment out the following lines:
#trap "GO=3DY" $SIGUSR1
#GO=3DN
=20
#/usr/fox/wp/bin/blink_task -sig -r -hb 5 &
#PID_BLINK=3D`echo $!`
=20
#tot=3D0
#while test "$GO" =3D "N"
# do
# sleep 1
# tot=3D`expr $tot + 1`
# if test $tot -eq 30
# then
# GO=3D"Y"
# fi
# done
#
#trap "" $SIGUSR1
#PID_BLINK=3D`echo $!`
Have a look in /usr/fox/xt/bin/dm_wp50.sh or in your case foxview.sh to
see why.
The blink task is started in this script too.
Do you actually need the blink task with FoxView?
And finally, have you modified /usr/fox/xt/lib/xdm/Xsession to point to
the above mentioned openwin-init?
Replace the following line in /usr/fox/xt/lib/xdm/Xsession:
exec /usr/dt/bin/Xsession
with:
sleep 15 & pid=3D$!
olwm -syncpid $pid &
wait $pid
sleep 5
exec /bin/sh $XTRC
You will see that XTRC is defined further up in
/usr/fox/xt/lib/xdm/Xsession and points to /usr/fox/xt/lib/openwin-init
I hope this will work out for you.
Cheers,
Frits.
p.s. A lot of the above stuff was actually sorted out long time a go by
our local Foxboro rep. Thanks Sean.

I received a Wyse terminal 5150 se and I set up my network and I can
ping the client and also vnc to it. I setup a xdmcp Connection in the
Connection Manager of the thin client. I added the client to my host
file and when I connect to my AW or WP from the wyse term. I get a
screen that has the second ethernets letter bug on it saying willing to
manage I highlight the WP for example and click accept . Then an I
receive a screen that flashes about three are four times and then goes
back to the screen with the letterbugs on it. I am run foxview on 51F. I
know I have to tweak a setting in the /usr/fox/xt/lib/openwin-init file
but I am at a lost to know what I need to tweak. Can someone out in the
list give me a hand

The Wyse 5150 is a Linux based Xterminal.
Dead simple.
Plug it in your network,
configure this connection either with fixed IP or DHCP,
configure in 'conection manager' a session with your favourite host (for
DM remember to limit the colours to 256),
go to the host and set up /usr/fox/xt/lib/openwin-init to suit your
needs.
I had some trouble here because the openwin-init started the blink task
which was re-done in the ../bin/dm_WP50.sh
Bob is your uncle.
We use Xterminals mainly for remote display managers in places that
can/should not be fitted with expensive workstations.
Cheers,
Frits.
