Re: [foxboro] Extracting Alarm History to ASCII File

Actually, the grabs I get from my humble script do appear to contain the
priority, unless I'm looking at it wrong. It is embedded in the third
column, right before the alarm type, like this: 3HHABS (where 3 is the
priority).

A note on capturing the printed alarms - they don't include the alarm
priority. Lacking that can make alarm analysis difficult.

The official solution is:

1) AIM*Historian to store the messages
2) AIM*AMI to view and report on the messages
3) AMOplus to analyze the messages

There is a free utility that does just that (alarms printed to an ASCII
file), providing you are using a Unix workstation and legacy historian:
http://www.feedforward.com/downloads.htm

It isn't one of the best or greatest things out there for this, but it
works, and what do you expect for free?

We put an old windows pc in place of the alarm printer and use the =
windows
terminal program to save all the alarms to a text file.

Hello List,

does anybody know a way how to automatically extract alarm history to an
ascii file. I know how to do it using the alarm history display save =
option
but I would like to make a crontab job saving those informations on a
timeframe basis.

Best Regards
