Subject: Exceed 7.1 Installation Tips for FoxRemote Only

NOTE: Do not install Exceed 7.1 on an AW/WP 70.
Upgrading to Exceed 7.1
If you are upgrading from a previous version of Exceed, please read the
following information carefully.
o Exceed 7.1 will remove the previously installed version
of Exceed before continuing with the new installation.
o When prompted about saving the user's existing settings
respond with a NO.
o After successfully upgrading to Exceed 7.1 follow the
steps below for configuring Exceed based on the stations
Operating System.
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
After installing Exceed 7.1 on a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 machine
proceed with the instructions that follow.
o For FoxView fonts to display properly the following
changes have to be made to the Font Database:
Select Start > Programs > Hummingbird Connectivity V7.1 > Exceed >
Xconfig.
Select "Font" then "Font Database".
Select the "latin1" fonts and click the "Change" button.
Set the Status to "Inactive" and click "OK". Verify that the state
of the "latin1" fonts has been changed to "IP" (left-hand
column).
Select "OK".
Select "Close".
Exit the "Xconfig" window.
o Follow the instructions, included in the FoxRemote
manual, for copying and importing the "iafonts.ali" file
but copy the file to the following directory:
C:\Winnt\Profiles\All Users\Application
Data\Hummingbird\Connectivity\7.10\Exceed
o Follow the instructions, included in the FoxRemote
manual, for transferring the I/A Series fonts and markers
but copy them to the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Hummingbird\Connectivity\7.10\Exceed\Font\ia
o For Exceed I/A Series displays to work properly with PCs
using a display setting of True Colors change the Exceed
Screen Definitions.
Select Start > Programs > Hummingbird Connectivity V7.1 > Exceed >
Xconfig.
Select "Screen Definitions".
Set "Server Visual" to "PseudoColor".
Microsoft Windows 2000
After installing Exceed 7.1 on a Microsoft Windows 2000 machine proceed
with the instructions that follow.
o For FoxView fonts to display properly the following
