Re: [foxboro] Drift/Failure

Bill,
We have had FBM failures over the last several years, at the rate of =
about 2/month. Foxboro has looked at the problem and the most likely =
cause that we have come up with is the connection on the letterbug.

We were running version 6.1 and we believe that the FBM diagnostics we =
showing a loss of communication and then the FBM would fail. On =
non-critical loops we found that reseating the FBM would bring it back =
on line and critical loops, we would just replace the FBM. Foxboro was =
showing that we were returning a lot of FBM's that were tested good.

During our plant turnaround last April, we did a reseat of all our FBM's =
and letterbugs. We have all remote field enclosures (FE8). We also did a =
software upgrade to version 6.3.

We didn't have any problems with FBM failures from May till this fall. =
The symptoms seem to have changed with the new version 6.3, in that we =
don't have the hard failures on FBM's, but have FBM communications =
errors on our system monitoring. The fix still seems to be reseating the =
FBM or replace.

We are looking at replacing/relocation our FBM's in marshalling =
buildings.

Thanks, Craig=20

Has anyone had failure or drift problems with any FBM's?
