Re: [foxboro] Display manager initial environment

Sorry, I forgot to mention the critical fact that I am running FoxView
99.2.1. Do you know if the new V8.0 ( I think that's what the latest
version is) works?

Roger,

As you mentioned, the initial startup environment for Display Manger is
determined by the text entry that has been put into the TYPE section of the
/usr/fox/customer/hi/dmcfg. If you are running Display Manager, then it
should work if the environment exists as spelled and contains correct
syntax. However, if you are running FoxView, I think you will experience
the problem where FoxView will only start with the INIT environment
regardless of what is configured in the dmcfg file.

The documentation on display manager configuration indicates one can
configure the initial environment for a DM via the DM type parameter.
However, I can not get this to work. I seem to remember this was a known
problem in the past, but I'm not sure. Does this work now (I'm at V6.1.1),
and if so, are there some tricks to it?
