Re: [foxboro] Display Manager Stops Running on WP51F on Ver. 7.1.1

Thanks to those sending suggestions to my problem with a display manager as
shown below. Seems that I had 2 problems. First was a hard drive that was
marginal as I was getting lost+found errors in the /var/adm/messages file from
the /opt partition. Replaced the drive and that cleared that problem. Issue
with the DM going away was related to a display the operators would call up
from the Current Alarm Display (CAD). Whenever they called up a block detail
from the CAD the displayed block detail would blink at different rates. I
copied over the /opt/fox/dd_1/DFLT directory from a working station to this
station and the problems have cleared.

Subject: [foxboro] Display Manager Stops Running on WP51F on Ver. 7.1.1

Has anyone experienced the display manager to stop working on a running WP5=
1F box running version 7.1.1 software? Last week and again today I have ha=
d an experience where the display manager was not running on the box. This=
is a dual headed box and is run in the Windows Off mode. What I have seen=
is one head completely dark and the other has the Current Alarm page runni=
ng. Normally I could select the Previous Display button on the CAD and it =
would take me to the FoxView display that was running, but that does not wo=
rk. I can log in remotely to the box and when doing the ps -eaf command, t=
here are no DM processes running. There are no messages in the /var/adm/me=
ssage file indicating any type of failure. To get the box working again I =
just do a shutdown remotely and the restart the box and it works again. An=
y suggestions where to look first?

Thanks,
