Re: [foxboro] Display Manager Stops Running on WP51F on Ver. 7.1.1

Thanks Terry,

Yes, I did a grep for default as well as dm and compared to a working unit =
next to this one and that is where I found that the default dm process as w=
ell as Alias dm process were not running. I do have OAJ enabled so I will =
look there as well as taking the box back down and reseating the RAM. Than=
ks for the tips..

Jim

Jim,

If you have Operator Action Journal implemented, check for pattern of =3D
displays being called before the crash then take a close look at those =3D
displays.

Did you grep for default when you ran the ps command?

If you can, open the box ands re-seat the RAM.

Objet=3DA0: [foxboro] Display Manager Stops Running on WP51F on Ver. 7.1.1

Has anyone experienced the display manager to stop working on a running =3D
WP5=3D3D
1F box running version 7.1.1 software? Last week and again today I have =
=3D
ha=3D3D
d an experience where the display manager was not running on the box. =3D
This=3D3D
 is a dual headed box and is run in the Windows Off mode. What I have =3D
seen=3D3D
 is one head completely dark and the other has the Current Alarm page =3D
runni=3D3D
ng. Normally I could select the Previous Display button on the CAD and =3D
it =3D3D
would take me to the FoxView display that was running, but that does not =
=3D
wo=3D3D
rk. I can log in remotely to the box and when doing the ps -eaf =3D
command, t=3D3D
here are no DM processes running. There are no messages in the =3D
/var/adm/me=3D3D
ssage file indicating any type of failure. To get the box working again =
=3D
I =3D3D
just do a shutdown remotely and the restart the box and it works again. =
=3D
An=3D3D
y suggestions where to look first?
