I am not sure if this is what you are looking for but here goes. According
to B0400FE Rev. B Diagnostic data can be returned to a DCI block by using D
as the data type in the secret code. ie. 0D3 will return 3 bytes at offset 0
from the diagnostic stream.=20
I am using this diagnostic data to monitor the status of some device net
gateways that we have on a profibus segment. The data available will depend
on the device, and you may have to dig through the gsd file to determine
where the data is located in the diagnostic stream. In our case, I use the
data to determine what is going on with the device net side of the gateway,
as well as the status of individual slaves on the device net. With this data
and some logic I am able to indicate to operations when one of the slaves
goes offline or there is a general failure on the device net.

Subject: [foxboro] Diagnostics via FBM223
Good day
I sent a message about 10 days ago regarding getting diagnostic information
from field instrumentation via an FBM223 but got no response. Maybe my
question was too detailed and / or confusing.=20
To simplify: Has anyone on the list connected instrumentation to an I/A
system via an FBM223? If so, have you tried to get diagnostics beyond just
the status back to the DCS? If not, do you know of any Foxboro Profibus
experts that I can contact?
Kind regards,
Joachim Schubert
