Re: [foxboro] Determining Forces in PLB

David,
You are so right about that. We just finished a 500+ I/O conversion
from CP-30's and 60 to ZCP and 200 series IO and almost every discrete
100 series FBM used an extended one and all were running ladder logic.
We are doing another 600+ at midyear and have more to deal with. We are
eliminating as many ladders as possible then also. It is a lot of work.
Luckily we are using Esscors FSIM + SIM4ME so we can configure and
test all of our Control Configuration offline including the FBM
emulation before we shutdown for the cutover. That has been a godsend
and insures that we haven't mis-configured anything. The FSIM Virtual
CP even emulates/executes the ladder logic. We have a few instances
where we actually need the speed that ladder logic provides, mostly to
catch when field mounted momentary pushbuttons are used to shutdown or
start equipment.
