Re: [foxboro] Data collection software for Sun I/A

Mark,

Are there any scripts available to be able to generate the ASCII files? I
don't use this feature often but when I do It would be nice to generate the
files automatically.

Thanks,

You may be able to use the historian's "Data Display" feature, which =
allows
you to export historian data to an ASCII file. Easy and Free!

If you can use non-realtime data to train your loop-tuning software, and =
you
are using the Legacy historian..... you can export historical raw data =
to an
ASCII file. Of course, you will need to add the points you need if they =
are
not in the historian already.

Config->Historian->Data_Display

You should be able to do the same with AIM historian, although I can't =
walk
you through the steps.

Subject: [foxboro] Data collection software for Sun I/A

Hey list,
We are looking for a new method to get data from our unix based I/A =
systems
(AW51E) for loop tuning. I am currently looking into OPC servers which =
seem
to work well but require block configuration at both the OPC server and =
OPC
client side. It is also very expensive. What I would like is a simple
application where I can type in the tags I'm interested in (typically
PID.MEAS, PID.SPT PID.OUT) and the sample rate. The application would =
then
put the data in a file in ASCII format. I thought before I wrote =
something
I'd see what your using.

Thanks in advance for your help.
