Have a look on Cassandra for a program called gethist.
It can produce ascii listings from any Foxboro historian source 
(including archives and informix)
It was written for the legacy historian but I believe that it has been 
compiled to work with AIM*.
 From memory it just needed the Makefile to be adjusted for the more 
modern libraries.
Here is an example of the output. It defaults to the last 8 hours but 
can be provoked to get any available data.
$ export HISTORIAN=u3hst1
$ gethist COMPOUND:BLOCK.OUT
...
2003/08/28 07:01:45     209.3711 35
2003/08/28 07:02:06     206.2949 35
2003/08/28 07:02:44     209.8701 35
2003/08/28 07:04:03     213.2197 35
