Re: [foxboro] DMC Bridge

Chad,

As of Version 4.1.x of the DMCplus Bridge, users can run the Aspen DMCplus
software on a remote PC and communicate to the DMCplus Bridge on the AW and
stay current with Aspen's software. There are many clients running in this
configuration right now and many other upgrading to it.

Aspen only provides up to V3.1 of DMCplus on Solaris, but with the remote
operation, you can run V5.x of DMCplus. You do need some quick fixes that
are not normally supplied with the Service Pack as well as procedural
changes.

The security, watchdog timer, etc, is the same. The main difference is that
manage and control run remotely on the PC instead of on the AW and you need
to download the CCF values from the PC to the AW via manage.

There are user notes available that describe this, but most likely you will
need an upgrade to the bridge, updated Aspen files and possibly some
support.

Subject: [foxboro] DMC Bridge

Any DMC Bridge users out there or Foxboro personnel: Is there or will there
be an upgraded version of DMC Bridge to stay current with the latest
versions of Aspen products? As I understand it from version 4 up Aspen IQ
and DMC began sharing some files and upgrading one and not the other can
cause problems. We are in the process of upgrading our Aspen products and
would like to upgrade IQ but may need to upgrade DMC Bridge to be
successful. Thanks.
