Re: [foxboro] Copying Displays to remote workstations

Does the I/A throttle traffic to/from rmount-ed drives to avoid overloading
the nodebus? What's the reason for doing this over, say, rcp?

With Solaris systems, we use rmount, cp, rumount. Also
in the script is code to check the existance of the directory
on the remote machine, and code to create it if its not
already there.

On 70 series machines, we use Nutcracher command 'cp'
to the //XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/IA/filepath address. The actual
IP address is spelled out to force use of the second
e-net port. AW/WP on NT is very sensitive to too much
traffic on the nodebus.

Further, the script is callable from a DM script placed in the
SftMnt menu, allowing one to send the display currently on
screen to the other AW/WP processors in the system.

Both scripts are sensitive to directories, and work recursively
through directories if specified.

BTW... What do you mean by "rcp doesnt pack the files properly" ?
Do you have a mixed NT/Solaris system?
