Hi Darryl and Tod,

why don't you use the standard UNIX tool rdist?  That tool is mend for
remote-distribution.  It is delivered as part of the standard UNIX tools.
For more information, check the man pages.
When you are interested, I can send you some examples.

Have a look at rsync on www.sunfreeware.com
You can use it to mirror directories. Only changes will be transmitted
when the sync takes place (down to the byte level). It is very efficient
and quick.
It can be used on nfs/rfs mounted filesystems, with rsh/ssh or an rsync
server.
