Have a look at rsync on www.sunfreeware.com
You can use it to mirror directories. Only changes will be transmitted
when the sync takes place (down to the byte level). It is very efficient
and quick.
It can be used on nfs/rfs mounted filesystems, with rsh/ssh or an rsync
server.
