Glen,
We are using an ABGW30FT with an A cable connection direct to the RS232
port on the front of a CL5550.
A few of the details:
1. The Configuration Selector Switch P0970VB settings are the same as for
a PLC-5: 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,11,12,14,16 are closed.
2. From the Selector Switch to the CL5550 is a straight-thru 25-pin female
to 9-pin d-shell female, about 40 feet long.
3. The CL5550 is set up with a PLC-5 emulation for the gateway values.
4. 19,200 baud.
5. The ECB printouts:
A10AG6_ECB:PRIMARY_ECB
NAME PRIMARY_ECB
TYPE ECBPG
DESCRP
NRBUS 1
BUSOPT 3
BUSTYP 3
PIOWDT 3
MPOLL 0
BAUD 3
DATBIT 8
PARITY 0
STPBIT 1
A10AG6_ECB:109608
NAME 109608
TYPE ECB15
DESCRP
DEV_ID 109608
HWTYPE 31
EXTYPE 0
SWTYPE 15
PCTYPE 5
PCADDR 1
HBEAT 0
PLCRIT 0
FLTPNT 1
RES02 3
We are planning within 6 months to use ABGW30BFT redundant communication to
a redundant CL5555, with the A cable going into the serial port of one of
the PLC's and the B cable into the other.
It is my understanding that one could instead use a KF2 converter to
DataHighway+, and go into a DataHighway+ card in the CL5550 rack. We have
not tried this and are not planning to do this at present.
