Re: [foxboro] Control Blocks missing in ICC Configuration on CP270

I had a similar problem several years ago. The WP on which I was
working auto-rebooted in the middle of a long ICC editing session. The
edits I had made in the ICC were still there, but the ICC no longer
matched the CP.

I was fortunate because the equipment that went with the files I was
editing was off line being modified. I was able to fix it replacing the
compound. As near as I recall, here is what I did:

1. I copied my edited compound in the ICC to a work volume, renaming it
in the process.

(At this point, I completed my edits off-line in the work volume. For
what I was doing, it made sense at the time. As a matter of fact, it
begs the question, "Why was I not doing the edits off line to begin
with, since I was making many--and some major--changes?")

2. I deleted the original compound which contained the errors. This
removed it from the ICC and the CP.

3. I copied the edited compound back to the CP and renamed it with its
original name.

It worked for me. But, I was at a point where I was going to have to do
the Initialize\LoadAll procedure anyway. So, if it did not work, it was
not going to be any worse than it was.

Another important thing to know:
I was closing down my laptop as your message came in, getting ready to
go out the door. Even now, I remember how urgent it was for me at the
time. That is why I am typing out what I know now--completely from
memory. You will, of course, think all of this through looking for
weaknesses. I may not have remembered all of the details, but it may
give you a place to start.

Subject: [foxboro] Control Blocks missing in ICC Configuration on CP270

The problem:
Some Control Blocks are running in the CP270 and show-up in Select, but
are not in ICC.
Now, we can NOT add those 3 blocks back in the ICC because the CSA
Server doesn't allow duplicate names.
Listed below are the only methods I have found to try. Looking for a
quick and simple method to resolve this problem.
