Alex,
This makes sense, thanks. How much is "faster" or "slower"?
André

The configuration
ZCP -> FCM -> 30 FBMs
will have poorer (slower) I/O handling than
CP40 -> 30 FBMs
The FCM adds delay. However,
ZCP -> FCM -> 15 FBMs
-> FCM -> 15 FBMs
will out perform the CP40 because the second FCM chain will be working in
parallel and the CP basically won't have to wait for its readings.
ZCP -> FCM -> 10 FBMs
-> FCM -> 10 FBMs
-> FCM -> 10 FBMs
will be even faster.
If the chains aren't balanced, list the short chain first in the ECB compound.
The long chains will run in parallel and generally will complete by the time
they are asked for data or will delay only briefly.
Make sense?

We have about 30 FBMs, all in a single IE32, all on a single FCM pair.
Yes, and the FCM is first in the _ECB compound, and there are no other FBMs in
that ZCP yet, so all are on the same FCM.
We are hoping/expecting that any future expansion of IO will come with 200
series.
I'd be interested in more info on this.
Thanks

Chris,
What is the FBM counter per FCM?
The reason that I ask is that a ZCP can be slower than the CP30 for some
applications if the majority of the FBMs are on one FCM and that FCM is
referenced first in the ECB compound.
