Re: [foxboro] CSC website searches

Regarding searches, I'd like to plug something that I wouldn't want to
live without - Yahoo Desktop Search, a.k.a., X1. =


This program is fantastic. It indexes all my mail (several GBs) and all
my files. The search is everything I'd want and the filtering is simple.

Best of all, is the interface. One row pert entity so I get lots of hits
on one page with preview if I want it.

It also indexes attachments to e-mail under their own tab.

I keep many of the I/A Series and InFusion documents on my drives and X1
makes searching them easy.

It's well worth your time and bets Google search to pulp. Of course,
it's free.


Go to Google and type: Yahoo Desktop Search.

I agree with you, Kevin. The CSC web site is the *only* one wasn't
able to use with Firefox, but now that hurdle is overcome, I'm
ecstatic. Yay! But... we started to see some weird errors on the new
GPS web site using IE (6.x something) and I started to believe it has
something to do with the way the links are javascript'ed. Hard to
explain, but Tom is birddogging it with Ken Gilbert.

We were assured, both by e-mail and verbally, that the search
mechanism is being revamped, and it WILL work shortly. I sure hope so
because, like you said, search is *the* means to effectively use the
web site.
