Thanks everyone, for the input.
Seems there is no single fix. I guess the CP60's have to reside in a
pristine environment not to have communication issues with its field bus.
I will continue to spend time addressing the issues while keeping everyone's
recommendations in mind.
Hopefully I can persuade the company to upgrade our existing and not replace
it with our corporate standard.
Thanks,
James

Subject: [foxboro] CP60 Field bus problems
Does anyone have on-going PIO errors on their CP60 field bus? We have
CP60's with 100 series I/O. Multiple drops to racks scattered over the
plant but, within spec. Fiber jumps between buildings (racks) but no more
than two. I/O loading is within spec. I have had some of the best in
Foxboro look at it and no answers. The only way to cut down on the nuisance
alarms is to run one good bus and disable switching. I have one CP that
will run fault tolerant for an average of 14 days before it goes single.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
