Kabir,
It looks as if your FT CP60 went single, which is no problem for your
production area, that's why it's a fault tolerant right? So I don't know
what you mean by "How could we configure our CP in FAILSAFE mode so that
it retain the last good value in case pf any such failure". As long as you
still have the shadow CP taking over as primary there's no problem with
last good values right?
We've had this kind of errors also, multiple times. Each time the CP was
replaced. sometimes we had to replace the CP 3 or 4 times in a row,
sometimes the problem shifted to the other CP in the FT pair. We're fed up
with these CP60's and the last remaining CP 60 will be replaced by
ZCP270's in September.
We changed all the wiring and earthing according to the foxboro standards,
We even changed from coax to FO, this didn't improve anything to the CP's
failing.
Contact your Foxboro rep, maybe you're entitiled to a replacement CP,
cause the early revision nrs were all changed or recalled. All in all the
CP60 was never very succesfull, his predecessor the CP40 never caused any
problems in the 5 years we used them.

We've experienced a strange CP60 Failure and the details of the system is
as follow:

two WP51D as Operator stations
One of the CP60s got the red indication and system Alarm observed that
became Blinking Green after few seconds but the CP60 remained red
indicated.
the line printer showed the following messages in sequence
