Re: [foxboro] CP UPLOADS

Wow,
Thanks all for the info. Great responses!

Question for Tim Lowell on the save_all.sh script.
----I can see how to switch the upload on or off, but I couldn't tell
how to do the shrink? Can be switched on/off?

As for automating the Uploads - I tested the script on one of our CP60's
(node bus device). The script took just about 15 min. I didn't try it on
a CP270 yet, but from manually doing them from ICC I believe the time to
complete will probably be less. So, if say the average time to do
uploads is in the range of 15 min., just for argument's sake, then
uploading our 8 CP60's, 5 CP270, and 2 CP30 gateways will take about 3
3/4 hours, if done all at once. It probably is not a good idea run the
script for all CP's at the same time. I'm thinking about maybe
scheduling them 1 a day on each host, or some variation of that. After
the uploads are complete we will need to run iccprt on a day after the
uploads are complete. Then we will ftp all the files to one host, then
ftp all the files to a collector on the other side of our DMZ. Of
course, we will automate all these tasks to occur so as not to conflict
with other scheduled tasks.

I guess the alternative is to automate the save_alls, but do the Uploads
manually. This would be less risky but ties one person baby sitting the
uploads.

Thanks for all the info. Keep those cards and letter coming!
