Re: [foxboro] Browser Based HMI

Just what make you think I don't have a 'day job'?  I'll have you know that 
a massive honeydoo list has been trimmed from twelve to three pages in the 
almost two years I've been retired.  Not only that, but I have to keep my 
eye on this list to keep you from going too far astray, do part-time 
training for Foxboro, and wonder why nobody's buying my software.

On the subject at hand (browser based HMI), just keep in the forefront your 
vivid memories of complaints about 20 to 30 second call-up times in the 
early days.  Portability such as this often requires many layers of software 
at the cost of speed and resources or both.  If you can't do it better, then 
don't do it.

Hmmm I seem to remember saying the same thing about porting to Windows a few 
years back.  While all the technical folks are slowly shifting their 
opinions away from a UNIX-like environment, I'll just bet you administrator 
types are still grinding your teeth at the thought of altogether loosing the 
multi user environment.
