If you want to have a NEW CP in an existing rack hosted by a V7.0 AW/AP, you
may do that. The CP version will be the version supported by the V7.0 AW
(whatever that is). The new AW will boot the new CP over the
RCNI/switch/NCNI without issue. In fact, one of the CP-60s in Demo 23 was
hosted by a V7.x AW.
If you want to re-host an existing CP in an existing rack hosted by a V6.x
AW/AP to a V7.0 AW/AP, I'm not sure if you will have to reboot the CP. I'll
try to find out.
However, it's not clear to me why you would want to change the boot host of
the CP.

I guess I meant, not at version 6.1. I think you are correct, but
you have
to be at version 6.4 on the CP's. Anyone from Invensys, please feel
free to
clarify this!

Tim,
Concerning v. 7 boxes hosting older CP's on the nodebus,
I was
told at the
conference that they definitely would, even down to a CP10.
For
example, one
could replace an AW51B on the nodebus that was hosting a
CP30 with a
Solaris 8
or an XP box on the ethernet network, and through NCNI's,
the new
box could host
the CP30. This would help the transition occur more
smoothly.
Did anyone on the list hear differently from Foxboro?
Perhaps I
misunderstood.
