From what I got at the Showcase, current WP/AW hardware will not be
software-upgradeable to I/A version 7.  Their plan is for you to run a
dual-version system, i.e., v7 on the new stuff, v6.4 (or earlier -- how
much earlier you can get away with I don't know) on the old.  Supposedly
the primary difference between v7 and v6.4  is the Solaris version, but
this could get more, um, interesting with software versions beyond v7.

We have a similar situation. The local Foxboro rep said we need to upgrade
entire system to a new version (7?) to have a Solaris 8 based station. We
run on version 6.1. If someone gets more information, please share with us
here.
