Re: [foxboro] Alarm envrionments

This is only possible with 8.0. The 8.0 AM allows you to switch between
databases to view one or more (one at a time per AM). If you have more than
one AM per workstation you could view Unit 1 alarms on the first AM and the
Unit 2 alarms on the second AM.

With 6.x or 7.x I/A you can send all the alarms, Unit 1 and Unit 2, to the
workstations. You can then create a match/filter specification to view
either the Unit 1 or 2 alarms. The drawback to this is you would have both
Unit 1 and 2 alarms in your CAD database. If you get a flood of Unit 1
alarms it could force all your Unit 2 alarms out of the CAD database.

Subject: [foxboro] Alarm envrionments

We have a single node that serves as the control system for 2 "units". At
present we have the alarms for, say, unit 1, directed to on WP, and the
alarms for say, unit 2, directed to 2 other WP's.

I'd like for the unit 2 operator to be able to "back up" the unit 1 operator
on handling alarms, Unit1 has an audible alarm that the unit 2 operator can
hear.

I was poking around in the alarm manager screens, and I found under Display
-> Operations, that I can bring up a new window, that has "environments"
-> as
one of it's choices. Is there some way I can configure this so that the WP's
for unit2 can "switch environments" and see the unit1 alarms?
