Thank you for the quick fix. I will install it as soon as possible.
However, we do not have 8.2 on our system. We do have 8.3 and a little
Unix 6.12. Is this quickfix still applicable to apply to 8.3.

I think I read earlier in this thread that this problem occurred when
8.3 was installed. That was not our case as we ran with a mix of 8.3,
8.2, and Unix 6.12 for a year with no problem, only with the
installation of 8.42 did the problems arise.

Answers to your questions:

Does this mean that we need to install QF1009910 on all of our CAG 8.2
boxes before we begin to install 8.4.2. on any of them? 
Yes.
Once you start the process of loading QF1009910 than all players need to
be at that QF level or at V8.4.2

As we install QF1009910 on some of the 8.2 CAG boxes will the
uninstalled 8.2 CAG boxes break the socket on the installed 8.2 boxes
until we have all at 8.2 with the QF intalled? 
Yes
Any V8.2 CAG member non-QF multicasting out onto the system to all CAG
groups will break that socket. Therefore affecting all CAG groups

Even though it is a pain, this solution makes it possible for us to
accomplish an upgrade to a mixed paltform 8.2 / 8.4.2.  Our problem is
that one of our boot hosts at 8.2 is a CAG member and we can't upgrade
it to 8.4.2 at this time because the CP's cannot be initialized and
rebooted as required by 8.4.2.  Without a QF at 8.2 that box would
constantly break the
8.4.2 CAG multicast sockets on the other boxes? 
Yes. 
So it would be a prime candidate to load the QF. Or make it a non CAG
workstation.
