Re: [foxboro] (Alarm ACK Button) Horn Silencing Button

Question #1 is what do you use for a horn ?
If it is the one in the annunciator panel, then the
silencing requirement will go away when the panel
does.

If you drive an external contact, then some function
could use a one-shot write to reset it without getting
in the way of alarm manager functions; AM turns external
horns on and off using the one-shot (unconnected)
OM writes. ("omset" would work for this)

The problem is how to signal that function to do
such a reset. Somebody mentioned mappinng keys to cause
execution of a script. That would do it. Else one would
have to look around for a "keyboard hook" routine or
something like that. There is precident; there are
Solaris routines which kill off or log out DM or Foxview
after some period of keyboard/mouse activity. Perhaps
a look at one of these programs would show how the
program can tell if there hase been activity, and maybe
the same or related calls could see actual keyhits.
