Do you have AIM* on your AWs ?
If you do, you can configure your AIM* instance to collect Foxboro
messages/events. To do so, edit the file \aim\examples\messages.inp to
contain your instance name, then batch the file using AIM* HistBatch
utility. You have also to configure your Foxboro compound to save the
messages into the appropriate historian instance.
Once the messages are there, you can use I/A Alarm Display or Invensys
Systems Canada Alarm Extractor to query the messages with an interactive
user-interface directly from and into your Excel spread sheets. Alarm
Extractor can also produce configurable scheduled Excel reports. The Alarm
Extractor report contains a sheets that gives you the number of occurences
of each type of alarm. Operator actions, process alarms and system alarms
can be stored in AIM* and retreived with the Alarm Extractor.
You can also use AIM* HistExport to export your messages from AIM* into
Oracle. Consult AIM* documentation (B0193YL REV E), appendix G.
If you want more information regarding the Alarm Extractor, contact me.

Subject: [foxboro] Alarams/Events to Oracle
Hi list...
Does anybody know a way to "export" events or alarams from system to a data
base (Oracle) ?
We are interested in catching important events from operation and send them
to an Operation Log, so the event is automaticlly saved to this data base
and the operator has to fill the blanks for the cause...
We also been working with PI, but we don't want to replicate variables or
alarms logics into PI....
I've seen recently an aplication to dump events to excel (the link is not
working..), may be the way ?
Thanks for your help guys...
