We've used a relatively inexpensive product called AlarmAnalyst to pull all
alarm events out of our AW. Our production staff use it extensively as it
not only tabulates the alarms but also provides graphical representation to
help analyze alarm patterns. Standard graphics include Pareto, Sequence of
Events, Best Fit plus others. There is a very friendly filter that allows
the user to focus on alarm groups. The graphical markers also indicate the
priority, inhibit status and return to normal status.

This product is made by a group called Machine Automation located in
Burlington Ontario To contact them call

Subject: [foxboro] Alarams/Events to Oracle

Hi list...

Does anybody know a way to "export" events or alarams from system to a data
base (Oracle) ?
We are interested in catching important events from operation and send them
to an Operation Log, so the event is automaticlly saved to this data base
and the operator has to fill the blanks for the cause...
We also been working with PI, but we don't want to replicate variables or
alarms logics into PI....

I've seen recently an aplication to dump events to excel (the link is not
working..), may be the way ?

Thanks for your help guys...
