Okay, this I have to weigh in on, and yes, I do recognize the futility
of complaining.
<RANT MODE ON>
I pay Microsoft less than $200 for a commercial, general use operating
system, and I neither expect nor pay for anything else, and am just
amazed that it actually works at all sometimes. =3D20
Now, when I pay many thousands of dollars for my new I/A XP/AW70 upgrade
license, with a critical, specific use program such as AIM*AT, and this
is the vendor recommended upgrade path, I do expect better. If Foxboro
wants everyone to migrate to XP/mesh (and I believe they do), this has
to be a little more palatable. While I'm on my soapbox, I'll fuss about
the lack of archive data retrieval (command line) tools on XP also,
which is another of the barriers to the Unix =3D3D> XP migration.
<RANT MODE OFF>
That said, I don't have anything useful to suggest that will help Troy.

Troy,
The data can be transferred over as a service offered by our IPS applied
engineering in the Montreal office. This has been quite successfully for
a lot of sites that want to move to the mesh and maintain their AIM*AT
data.
There are not free utilities to do this in the AIM*AT suite. If you want
this service we can easily get you to the correct person to write a
quote for this service for you.
Does Microsoft move all of your files from your old computer to a new
computer for you when you upgrade your operating system? Or is this a
service that you pay for or risk the loss of data? Do you have to
recompile programs when you upgrade from Solaris 2.5.1 to Solaris 8.0?
You may do this if you have the expertise, but people buy engineering
services to do this recompile all of the time.

Guys,
I just got another surprise while "downgrading" from UNIX to XP. I have
been told that my UNIX AIM instance and historical data will not import
into the XP version of AIM. Is there a solution out there that will
allow me to recover the instance and data from my UNIX box?
Thanks
