On 2 projects we had to load the RSLinx Gateway License in order for
RSLInx to accept the IOGate connection.
The RSLinx didn't need to be re-installed, but the gateway license
needed to be applied.
Hope this helps.
Sylvain.

Subject: [foxboro] AW70/OPC IOGate and A-B RSLinx
Well, we got our brand -spanking-new AW70 (with NT
4.0...ooooohhh...aaahhhhh :) running this week. We also have the RSLinx
OPC server from Rockwell loaded on it, and an OPC server from HIMA (an SIS
logic solver vendor in Germany) on it as well. The HIMA OPC works great;
we built some ECBs and a few blocks and everything's fine. However, we are
having problems with the RSLinx server; the IOGate won't connect to it (and
says so in its error log), and the RSLinx server gives an error, something
to the effect of, "remote OPC connection not allowed on RSLinx
Professional". Now, I would understand this if the RSLinx were on a
separate box from the AW70 (RSLinx Pro does not allow remote client
connections - you have to pony up for RSLinx Gateway to get that), but we
are running it on thw AW70.
As a test, I downloaded the Matrikon OPC Explorer tool and tried it. It
connects to RSLinx with no problems.
Anyone know why the RSLinx thinks that the I/A IOGate client is "remote",
or otherwise have any experience with doing this?
TIA,
Corey Clingo
