Re: [foxboro] AW70 XP and smtp

Idiots is as idiots <a

ing-numerous-user-problems"> does </a>.

I guess this pushes back the first I/A on Vista release to about 2013,
which would be fine with me.

I know we're veering off on a tangent, but considering the typical

Windows user, you *have* to assume s/he is an idiot. Can't really blame

McAfee and its ilks.

As the old saying goes, Microsoft never bothers to make it idiot-proof,

knowing that "better" idiots will be coming along.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. When I say "firewalled" I usually

mean=3D20

either externally, or internally using products like McAfee, and on =

a=3D20

handful or all ports, TCP and/or UDP, etc. And I also stated =

"remote=3D20

host", but it could also happen on the local box, as "we are smarter

than=3D20

you" products like McAfee will block _outgoing_ ports like SMTP to

protect=3D20

the Internet from your obviously malignant PC. I swear, I think the

think=3D20

I like most about Unix is that it never assumes you are an idiot.

Glad you got it worked out.
